Translated directly from it's Greek origin, Lithopane means to appear in stone.  First created by craftsmen in the 1800's, early lithopanes would appear at the bottom of a tea cup, as a hidden design, unseen until lit.  They were used as fireplace screens, candle shields, lamp shades and of course to display pictures.  We are able to capture your memories and illuminate them here for a one of kind keepsake.
